Preschool
Cornerstone lays a foundation of character and habits on which the academics are then built. Preschool parents partner with Cornerstone to teach their children the foundational academics needed for Kindergarten as well as the life skills and habits needed to steward their gifts to God’s glory. In addition to robust academics, we emphasize obedience, thankfulness, attentiveness, faithful effort, independence, and responsibility. Children who attend Cornerstone Preschool find joy and pleasure in learning and are well-prepared for our academic program in Kindergarten.
Preschool Three
Habits and Academics
Our focus in Preschool Three is on good habits. Preschool Three students learn to put things away, listen to the teacher, exhibit good manners, and play well with their classmates. These habits are an essential foundation for learning. The curriculum includes the study of shapes, number, seasons, the calendar, phonograms, art, science, and music.
Preschool Three meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays of each week. We offer both morning and afternoon sessions. Students enrolling in Preschool Three must be toilet-trained and be three by September 1.
Morning: 8:30-11:15 (Drop off begins at 7:45.)
Afternoon: 12:15-3:00 (Drop off begins at noon.)
Preschool Four
Preschool Four students continue to reinforce good habits while making explicit preparation for the Kindergarten program through work in math and language.
Preschool Four meets Monday through Friday. Parents may select morning or afternoon class times on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All preschool Four students attend together on Thursday mornings as there is no afternoon session on those days. Students enrolling in Preschool Four must be toilet-trained and be four by September 1.

Because of the challenging nature of the Cornerstone curriculum, we strongly recommend that children with summer birthdays enroll in Preschool Three as four year old’s or enroll in Preschool Four as five year old’s.
Middle School
In the Middle School, reasoning is emphasized. Teenagers have a natural interest in argument and dialectic thinking. Cornerstone builds upon the facts laid down in Lower School by teaching and providing opportunities in class discussion and writing for students to reason–to argue. Students receive formal instruction in logic in Grade Seven.
